12 Months Free Line Rental With Free Mobile Phone

What are these free line rental mobile deals?
Available from online retailers you can sometimes get very special offers when signing up for a pay monthly contract with a network such as Orange, O2, Vodafone, Three (3), T-Mobile, Virgin and others. The best of these deals offer a free mobile phone and free 12 months line rental on a 12 month contract.

New mobile phone handsets are available on these offers from makes such as Nokia (e.g. 6280, 6680, 5200, 7360), Motorola (e.g. RAZR V3, L7, E1070, PEBL U6), Samsung (e.g. E250, D500, D600), Sony Ericsson (e.g. W300i, K750i), LG (e.g. KG320, U400, U890, U8360), Sharp, Panasonic, SPV and more.

How do they work?

These deals are available through cash back. The way in which it works is that you order your phone from the retailer who will then connect you to your chosen tariff and network provider.

So for example you order online a Motorola RAZR v3i on Orange Talk & Text 200 from the Carphone Warehouse on one of their special 12 months free contract deals. The phone is completely free but you will need to initially pay the line rental to Orange every month as usual (and as stated in the contract details). However you send back your 4th, 8th and 12th mobile phone bill as you receive them to the Carphone Warehouse and they will send you a cheque each time covering the line rental up until that point. By the 12th bill you will have received the full 1 years line rental cost back from them, in effect making the line rental completely free. And if you only use your free text and talk minutes allowance you won't have to pay a penny for having and using a mobile phone for the whole year.

The basic steps for each online mobile phone retailer is similar but the details may differ in certain ways, for example some may offer to pay direct into your bank account instead of by cheque, others may ask for different bills e.g. the 6th and 12th monthly bill. So it is important that you read and understand the requirements for your cashback deal from the online retailer that you order from.

After the 12 month contract is up you are free to cancel, and find another free mobile phone deal on websites such as mobile43.co.uk - plus your old phone is yours to keep, sell or give away. If you want to retain your existing phone number simply request a PAC (Port Authorisation Code) from your previous network provider and give this to your new network provider who will handle the transfer of your old number to your new contract.
